Overview
Dishwashers are essential to kitchen operations, ensuring that the culinary team and service staff have a constant supply of clean tools and tableware.
Responsibilities
Sanitization: Cleaning and sanitizing dishes, glassware, utensils, and heavy cookware (pots and pans) using industrial machines or hand-washing for delicate items.
Maintenance: Setting up and breaking down dishwashing stations, including routine maintenance of the commercial dish machine.
Facility Upkeep: Sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash and recycling, and keeping the "dish pit" organized.
Kitchen Support: Assisting with basic food preparation (e.g., washing or peeling vegetables) and unloading delivery trucks.
Compliance: Adhering to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines to meet health department standards.
Daily Activities
Shift Start: Setting up the machine, filling sinks with proper chemical concentrations, and cleaning preparation tools for the incoming shift.
Peak Service: Rapidly sorting, rinsing, and loading soiled items into the machine while ensuring clean plates are restocked for servers immediately.
Ongoing Tasks: Changing machine water every few hours, cleaning spills, and managing trash levels during rushes.
Closing: Scrubbing down the dish area, sanitizing food prep surfaces, and mopping the entire kitchen floor.
Compensation
Hourly Wage: $15 to start
