Seward is an easy place to fill your days off—whether you want big outdoor adventures or low-key downtime. Popular options for seasonal staff include:
- Kenai Fjords National Park: day cruises for glaciers and wildlife, plus ranger-led info and short hikes near Exit Glacier
- Hiking and viewpoints: Mount Marathon trails (choose your route wisely), Lost Lake, Tonsina Point, and easy coastal walks around town
- Water time: kayaking in Resurrection Bay, paddleboarding on calmer days, or beachcombing at low tide
- Wildlife watching: sea otters, seals, puffins, and eagles are common sights—bring binoculars if you have them
