Employee Experience
We have several departments and a range of roles within each department. Depending on the season, the team ranges from 12-120. We are building something unique in North America, for almost 20 years we have been crafting Driven Shooting in America. Common in Europe, in particular Spain, England and Scotland, the Tradition of Driven Shooting is a formal affair complete with Tweed, Flat Caps and Ties. A bit more Downton Abbey than the Wild West, but we pride ourselves on blending a rugged landscape of the American West with the Traditions of the Old World. Our team, often from a wide variety of nations help us build an unforgettable experience that has guest returning year after year. HOSPITALITY TEAM The Hospitality Team is responsible for crafting hospitality that enriches the field experience, creating a sense of luxury and discovery, effortless service with endless attention to detail, personalized experiences that reflect a heart of hospitality the puts our guests first. Our hospitality is friendly without being familiar and formal with ease. Team Includes: Lodge Manger, Culinary Team (Executive Chef, Sous Chefs, Cooks), Front of House Team (Server Capitan, AM Servers, PM Servers), Housekeeping Team (Head of Housekeeping, Full and Part Time Housekeeping), Property Team (Groundskeepers, Repair and Maintenance), Drivers & Footmen (Transportation) THE FIELD TEAM Field Team At the core of Blixt & Co is a world class pheasant and partridge shooting experience and is seasonal from September to Late November. BEATERS Our 25-30 person strong beating team is at the heart of what we do! The Beaters are responsible for driving or flushing the birds towards the Guns, under the Game Keeper’s instructions. Most are armed with flags to beat the bushes. HANDLERS The Blixt and Company dog team is a dedicated group of handlers that share their passion for great dog work and commitment to recover every bird down. Some handlers running multiple dogs at a time, mark downed and wounded birds for timely and effective retrieval. At the end of every drive, a coordinated sweep ensures that all the game is respectfully gathered for the game cart. LOADERS Loaders have two primary responsibilities: Safety and Service. Assigned to each guest, Loaders will assist their guest, much like a caddy to a golfer, throughout the day. Loaders are the first line of defense in safety, carefully monitoring guest’s gun handling and safety measures. Loaders are also to be service minded, hosting not only their guest, but every guest.
