Brewpub Line Cook: Job Overview It is the responsibility of the Line Cook to work with the Kitchen Manager and kitchen staff to maintain the four core principles of Denali Brewing: Safety, Quality, Efficiency and Ownership. The Line Cooks are expected to exercise good judgment and decision making to ensure these principles are maintained. Qualifications: - Prior kitchen experience. - Extremely high level of attention to detail. - Ability to think and act creatively, while conforming to existing standard operating procedures and DEC regulations. - Must be in good physical condition. - Must have a current Alaska Food Handlers card. - Ability to sit/stand/bend/walk and maintain manual dexterity for duration of work period. - Must be able to work independently and be able & willing to work morning, midday, nights and/or weekend shifts. - Able to lift 55 lbs. and move at least 165 lbs. - Be able to work in extreme hot and cold environments. - Have a flexible schedule and be a team player. Common Duties will include: - Maintain appearance, cleanliness and general ambiance in accordance with the culture of Denali Brewpub. - Be able to execute consistent plates of food. - High attention to food safety, taking temps and date checking all product. - Alert management to facilitate repairs. - Navigate adverse situations such as power outages and water outages. - Develop a strong knowledge of prep recipes and procedures. - Create a culture of safety, quality, efficiency and ownership. - Supervise hot and cold line set up and ensure proper stocking and back up prep. - Ensure opening and closing hot and cold line side work is completed. - Quality control of food delivered to guests, including appearance and portion control. - Communicate line needs by maintaining an accurate prep list. - Maintain daily and weekly line cleaning program. - Coordinate with the Kitchen Manager on all prep needs. - Ensure all food storage spaces are clean and orderly according to FIFO. - Communicate clearly and respectfully. - Maintain the prep list with Kitchen Manager. - This position requires flexibility and the ability to work hours as needed. Pay Range: $20-25 per hour DOE 60% off meals on days worked. Employee prices on our products. 50% off merchandise. All other benefits as laid out in the employee handbook.

Things To Do In The Area
Opportunities for adventure abound, with world-class outdoor activities available seven days a week. Explore the trails on foot, by bike, or on an ATV. Take in the scenic beauty on a flightseeing or jetboat tour. Zipline and rappel through the northern boreal forest, experience the glacier-fed rivers on a rafting adventure, or "mush on" with a dog sled tour. Denali State Park is only a 45 minute drive away. The hiking options are plentiful, beautiful and easily accessed. Denali Arts Council provides live music concerts in the park on Friday evenings, as well as a variety of theater performances, art shows, and other entertainment. There are a number of music festivals throughout the season and local establishments feature live music most nights of the week. We celebrate the end of each summer season with an employee bash. Throughout the season, we often have groups of employees getting together to set up outings to one of the many area lakes, camping destinations, and other outdoor activities.
RV / CamperVan Space
There is a possibility of camper space available, depending on location needs. Other local landlords may be open to campers for the season. There are two campgrounds located in Talkeetna. There is also a downtown location with four, full hook-up spots available.
