Host / Hostess: will greet guests as they arrive, receive and record dining reservations on the telephone, ensure the proper set up of dining and service areas, politely request guests to wait in waiting for area if no table is available, present menus, make recommendations and occasionally take orders. Assist room service staff when needed, be professional, and put together as this position is the first person a guest may see.
Host / Hostess Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Happily greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner upon arrival.
Seat guests according to their needs and desires.
Assist restaurant staff with other tasks such as bussing, clearing tables, cleaning, restocking napkins, etc.
Ensure appropriate supplies are necessary.
Perform cashier duties as required.
Other tasks as necessary.
Host / Hostess Qualifications:
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time, walk, use hands, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear, taste, and smell.
Must be able to move objects up to approximately 40 pounds about the workplace safely.
Must have excellent communication skills.
Must be able to function in high-stress/volume situations.
