Job Description

Gunflint Lodge & Outfitters, the preeminent vacation resort in Minnesota’s Northwoods, is seeking an enthusiastic full-time, dock employee for the 2021 summer season.

We are located in the heart of the Superior National Forest between Lake Superior and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and are listed in 1,000 Places to See in the U.S. & Canada Before You Die. As part of our summer staff, you will have the opportunity to build on the legacy of this legendary resort on the Gunflint Trail and call this iconic vacation destination home.

Roles and Responsibilities
Instruct guests on boat usage
Prepare motors, kayaks, canoes, pontoons, and safety equipment for guest use
Upkeep and daily maintenance of the marina area and equipment
Sell bait and fillet fish upon request from guests
Log equipment use for billing purposes
Additional duties include stocking firewood for cabins, fire tending, and daily trash pick-up

Job Qualifications
Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
Demonstrated leadership skills
Ability to work flexible hours
Strong sense of responsibility and a professional presentation
Prior boating and fishing experience highly recommended
Knowledge of boat operation is a plus
Customer-oriented approach and patience
Attention to cleanliness and safety
Must be a team player and willing to work flexible hours and help in other areas of the resort
