My name is Randy, I am 48 years young and I was born in Maine and currently this is where I reside in a small cabin off the grid without running water or electricity. I don't live this way because I have to but because I choose to. I am the fifth of six siblings in my family, all of whom are from diverse backgrounds, and these backgrounds define who we are today. I am the owner of two beautiful Siberian huskies whose names are Miles (14 years old), and Kyah (2 years old) and they are my life. I am striving to achieve great dreams and goals but ultimately, I am perusing peace and well-being during this short-lived life on this planet.
As a professional guide, in the past I have led and navigated trips on some of the finest whitewater anywhere in the world, ranging from Class I to V+, for example, the Gauley River (WV), the Colorado River (UT) including the Grand canyon, the Salmon River (ID), and many others. I have led, guided, and designed adventure trips for teens, solo paddled canoe trips for as long as 25 days in length, managed rafting companies, trained professionals, and thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail. These experiences have been important in my life. They have brought me to work with many people and populations in nature and the outdoors, such as adults, young adults, and struggling children. I have become well informed about spending time in nature and outdoor therapies and how these experiences are connected to the well-being of people. As an outdoor professional it is my goal to influence environmental ethics, and stewardship, while promoting education, leadership development, and inter and intrapersonal growth, in wilderness settings, and pristine areas.
