Our most successful team members have several things in common: An adventurous nature One of the bragging rights of working in a National Park is you get to say “I live where you vacation!” Through your many adventures, you’ll develop pride in being an ambassador of Grand Canyon Railway & Hotel. A desire for community You’ll find a sense of belonging living in a community and make lifelong friendships. Your friends, co-workers, and neighbors come from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Be prepared to have a roommate in a dorm and eat in a cafeteria-style setting. A strong work ethic From Memorial Day through Labor Day, the number of visitors and tour groups increases dramatically. Be ready to work in a fast-paced environment. A positive, contagious attitude Able to embrace life without constant phone and internet connectivity Access to the internet is extremely slow due to limited bandwidth.
Each housing option varies across locations, some are new, others historic. The most common option is a dorm with roommates. Affordable room and board costs are payroll deducted. Almost all Xanterra locations have some housing options!
Xanterra Parks and Lodges offer their employees a tremendous array of outdoor recreational activities and events. With programs to help employees meet each other, the seasonal activities are endless and range from guided group hikes to enjoying the outdoor activities that make each location unique. If you have a competitive side, sports leagues are also free activities that you can’t miss.
The Employee Dining Rooms serve a variety of meals which include hot entrees and side dishes, salads, fruits, cereals, and beverages. Meals are served three times daily and cost varies by location. Vegetarian meals are available. However, due to the number of meals produced each day, restricted diets (strict vegetarian, vegan or other restrictions) cannot be accommodated.
RV sites are available but may be limited, based on location.
