Unforgettable Hiking Vacations
The Wildland Trekking Company offers small group, multi-day backpacking, llama/mule supported trips, day hikes, car-camping basecamp style, and inn-based hiking trips for adults and families looking to experience unforgettable hiking vacations in majestic landscapes. Guests can expect delicious meals and extraordinary guides who have the ability to turn a great get-away into an unforgettable, inspiring adventure.
Enjoyment of our work comes from a passion and belief that providing hiking and backpacking tours into majestic landscapes is meaningful. For the guides, leading these trips as a profession is a dream come true. It would be difficult to find more inspiring "workplaces" than the backcountry of our program areas. Many of our guides spend 100+ nights in the backcountry annually, and they wouldn't have it any other way!

Wildland has trips for every ability level both on and off 'the beaten path'. Guides manage all aspects of the trip, are responsible for interpretive information, risk management, teaching all aspects of hiking and camping, guest satisfaction, and prepare 3 meals a day for guests in the field. Efficient and effective organizational skills, strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication and a high level of fitness are needed. Guides walk all day carrying a heavy backpack in varied backcountry environments and weather while providing excellent customer service and managing social dynamics in mixed groups. We offer guides roughly 15-20 days of work a month during the season and sometimes have part-time guiding positions.
