True Friends is a nonprofit organization providing life-changing experiences that enhance independence and self-esteem for children and adults with disabilities. Our programs include camp, respite, retreats, team building, therapy and adaptive riding, and travel; serving over 25,000 individuals annually. With locations near Maple Lake, Annandale, Eden Prairie and Bemidji, we serve individuals in Minnesota and throughout the United States. Employees will experience the summer of lifetime! From the beautiful lakeside views, making new friends from around the world to giving the participants the summer camp of their dreams. At True Friends staff get to collaborate with like-minded individuals, providing experiences and adventures to individuals with disabilities to gain skills in an environment they wouldn't get anywhere else. The ideal candidate is someone who is excited to be at camp, has caregiving experience, is willing to be flexible and learn, and who is ready to find the fun in each day! You should apply if you are… - Age 18+ - Willing to step outside your comfort zone. - Comfortable coaching small and large groups. - Passionate about making a difference in the world. - Able to support others with daily living skills. - Happy to live and work in a communal setting. - Eager to take initiative and have a strong work ethic. - Able to be flexible and adapt to an ever-changing environment. - CPR/First Aid certified, Lifeguard certified, camping experience, prior experience with the population are highly valued but NOT required.
