This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the team of world-renowned Minam River lodge located in the beautiful Eagle Cap Wilderness in Eastern Oregon. A one-time historic hunting lodge, the Minam River Lodge has been re-imagined as an elegant wilderness hideaway that was named to the Conde Nast Hot List of Best New Hotels in the World. The generosity and good nature of our guests make working at the Minam an enjoyable, rewarding experience. Authentically hand-built log cabins and a beautiful new Lodge provide accommodations for 36 people. Guests hike in or horseback 8.5 miles, or fly a small airplane to our grass airstrip.

We work hard together and support each other as a true team, while enjoying the experience of living in a beautiful, remote wilderness setting. By working closely as a team, we are energized and able to provide a genuine and unique experience to our guests. We aim to create a relaxed and personable, yet professional atmosphere. The majority of staff food is sourced from our wilderness garden, local farms, and ranches. Freedom to choose additional food options with weekly grocery orders. Additional perks include: Scenic wilderness flight in and out of the lodge, Guest tips shared among all lodge staff. Employee horseback rides, river exploration and endless hiking opportunities. Enjoy the 500 square mile Eagle Cap Wilderness Area and its miles and miles of trails through the diverse, stunning landscape. Pets allowed per management approval.
We are seeking service-minded individuals with excellent attention to detail for a variety of positions. Friendly, exceptional service, and maintaining an attractive, clean, and orderly environment are essential to the guest experience at the lodge. Our ideal candidates must have: Genuine desire to interact with guests in an inviting manner, positive attitude, an excellent work ethic, and an outgoing personality. Desire to live and work in a remote wilderness setting for 4 plus months. Physical stamina to work long hours .
All meals and room and board are provided to staff FREE of charge. Staff accommodations include shared (2-person) rooms in our 4-room staff house, or shared (2-person) wall tents in a 4-tent camp area. Staff house has electricity, full kitchen, wood-burning stove for heat, 2 full bathrooms with showers, living area, and outside deck. Wall tents do not have electricity and have detached shared bath and shower. All staff are welcome in the staff house shared areas. All Beds are XL twin-sized with pillows, linens, and blankets provided. Staff are equipped with laundry baskets, storage bin, toiletry caddy, bedside table, and a lamp with USB plug upon arrival.
Hiking, exploring the river, wildlife, airplanes, horseback riding and disconnecting from the world.
All meals and room and board are provided to staff free of charge. Staff enjoys a wide variety of food and beverages with weekly grocery orders and local farm produce. Generally, staff prepares their own breakfasts and lunches with the food provided, while dinner is prepared family style by a rotating list of employees. Vegetarians are easily accommodated for. Staff is also allowed to bring in food and beverages.
