On Caspian Lake
We are a charming & fun Vermont Lodging establishment near several downhill resorts, lots of mountain biking, nordic skiing, hiking, lakes, and more. We attract lots of east coast visitors in the Summer looking for a quiet, but pampered getaway on the historic Lake Caspian. We have guests and families that have been coming every Summer to stay in their desired cabin since the 1960's so they are looking for that historic charm and atmosphere that brings them back to simpler times. A. bulk of our guests are avid nature lovers- looking to come up and take advantage of the wild mountain biking and hiking that surrounds us, or in the Winter the nearby downhill resorts or cross country ski trails. We take the guest experience very seriously, offering a high end but comfortable staycation- with a full continental breakfast spread included daily, happy hour cocktails on the porch with a full bar and kitchen open Thursday- Saturday for dinner and drink service. Guests don't have to leave our property unless they are itching to get out and explore nearby towns and attractions. We host 3-5 weddings on average per season- from lodging to catering we make the guest dreams come to life. We host live music in the beer garden on Fridays and work with several nearby producers to highlight regional food and drink that makes our area so prominent in the food scene.
A fun and fast paced atmosphere and we have all types of jobs available. While we do hire for specific positions, we are a team oriented business so helping out in areas outside of your normal day to day is often expected. We have positions that are primarily outside, landscaping, repairs and maintenance, beach duties, etc. we also have positions more focused inside- from answering phones in reception and making reservations, to helping in the kitchen as a sous chef or dishwasher or if you are a morning person, running breakfast and baking first thing in the morning with the fresh smell of coffee. Our prime season is Memorial Day to Indigenous Peoples Day so our core staff remains on outside of those months when we start buckling the Summer cabins up for the Winter. Because of our peak season calendars, employees should be prepared for July and August blackout months in terms of vacation days unless previously agreed upon at time of employment. Our staff are expected to be self motivated and responsible as we all have a part to play in the day to day here, helping guests with whatever their needs may be and preparing for busy dinner and bar service requires self starters who need little direct oversight.
