It's not a place...it's a feeling
Camp North Star is a premier sleepaway camp for boys and girls, ages 7 - 17. We are the summer home to 300 campers and 150 staff from 23 states and 16 countries outside the U.S. Located in Poland Spring, Maine, we are 2 hours from Boston on 200 picturesque acres plus a 55-acre lake. Camp North Star provides the best overnight summer camp and experiences in the region. We lead the way in teaching our campers essential life skills that will help them grow as young adults and succeed back home after the camp season is over. Campers enjoy and thrive in our elective based program that allows everyone to individual select their weekly schedule from choices in arts, athletics, enrichment, outdoors, and waterfront.
Camp North Star prides itself in having a team of youth development professionals who are dedicated to being positive role models who guide, teach, and mentor our campers. Most staff enter the camp season expecting to gain skills supervising campers. By the end of the summer, staff realized they have gained valuable leadership skills in other areas including communication, organization, event planning, and teaching. The most rewarding parts of the experience for staff is the difference you make in a child's life and the strong bonds you create with fellow staff and campers.
Room, board, and laundry are provided for all staff. There are 2 staff lounges with WiFi in each lounge plus televisions, a kitchen area, a ping pong table, and air hockey. Staff can enjoy recreational activities during time off including sports and the waterfront area. Staff enjoy going to local beaches, state and national parks, baseball stadiums, shopping areas, and restaurants that are all within close proximity to camp.
A candidate with experience working with youth, who has a love and a passion for the outdoors, and a strong desire to be a positive role model for our campers.
