Job Description

Gunflint Lodge & Outfitters, the preeminent vacation resort in Minnesota’s Northwoods, is seeking a full-time, outfitting employee for the summer 2021 season.

We are located in the heart of the Superior National Forest between Lake Superior and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and are listed in 1,000 Places to See in the U.S. & Canada Before You Die. As part of our summer season staff, you will have the opportunity to build on the legacy of this legendary resort on the Gunflint Trail and call this iconic vacation destination home.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Packing food and equipment for canoe trips
Transport canoes and people to BWCAW entry points and return canoes and people to Gunflint Lodge after trips
Clean and prepare bunkhouses and small cabins for guests before their arrival
Clean bathrooms and shower rooms
Unpack and clean gear after guests' use
Other responsibilities as assigned by outfitting manager or supervisor

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Boundary Waters or other canoeing and camping experience is a plus
Willingness to help and work as a team in all activities
Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
Ability to work flexible hours
Ability to lift and move canoes and packs weighing up to 70 pounds
Strong sense of responsibility and a professional presentation
Must be 21 years old to drive guests
