What we’re looking for in our summer staff
• Passion for experiential learning, travel, and working with teens
• Experience working with youth (12-19 years old)
• Ability to perform as a role model, team-player mentality, responsible, independent problem solver
• Physical and mental stamina
• Willingness to work unusual hours with limited time off
TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHY INSTRUCTOR
Travel For Teens is looking for qualified candidates to be a travel photography instructor for programs in Italy, France, and Iceland. Potential photographers must be at least 21 years old. Preference is given to candidates able to commit to at least two summers. Successful candidates are reliable, passionate about travel and different cultures, and have experience working with youth. All staff must attend mandatory training either in person or virtually in late May or early June 2023.
Responsibilities:
• Teaching hands-on travel photography lessons on location
• Helping give 1:1 feedback to photography students during the trip to improve their technical and
artistic skills
• Helping participants develop a portfolio
• Completing day-to-day tasks that include errands and odd jobs
• Acting as a counselor in addition to teaching photography
Qualifications:
• Professional photography skills
• Experience teaching photography
• Travel photography experience
• Ability to develop a lesson plan
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Fluency in English
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work with a team
• Intimate knowledge of locations and cultures where we travel
• Experience and a passion for working with teens
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Travel experience in the locations where we travel
• Ability to work with little time off and limited personal time
