New Zealand's busy summer season (November 2023 – April 2024) is a great time to work and explore with guests from all over the world.
You may be looking for a working holiday adventure in New Zealand for 6 months or maybe developing your hospitality career here in New Zealand with us. We have staff accommodation options available and can also accommodate couples or small groups if everyone has hospitality experience. Our seasonal teams are fun and made up of a diverse mix of people of all ages and nationalities.
You will receive full, first class training relevant to your level of experience, including shadowing experienced staff, Barista level coffee making sessions, understanding how the kitchen operates, enhancing your wine knowledge and pairing, making cocktails, how to carry three plates, sequences of service and how to take an order.

What you will do:
We are looking for a professional and experienced Restaurant professional to join our award winning team.
Reporting to the F&B Manager you will have an effective presence on the floor, ensuring that all restaurant services are seamlessly delivered and to train our team to meet our world-class fine dining standards. This role will also be responsible for driving our wine programme, which includes overseeing beverage ordering and inventories, maintaining relationships with wineries and distributors across New Zealand and delivering a knowledgeable wine experience for our guests. You will work in close coordination with senior chefs around daily menus and develop appropriate wine pairing. In addition you will -
Manage and adapt to individual guest requests and preferences
Ensure dining areas are prepared to our standards prior to each service
Attend the daily Service briefings, to ensure you are knowledgeable about our daily changing menus
Using our Point-of-Sale system, ensuring accurate transactions
Working alongside the kitchen team and restaurant team to maintain a cohesive service
Work different shifts covering breakfast and lunch or dinner services
Make coffees, cocktails and serve other beverages (including wine)
Provide an exceptional service through your knowledge and passion for delivering a memorable dining experience
What you will bring:
The successful candidate will have -
A background in fine dining and wine service is essential
Previous senior level Food and Beverage experience in boutique lodges or 5 star properties
A working background in Relais and Chateaux properties will be highly regarded
A minimum of 3 years in a premium quality customer facing environment capacity
Hospitality specific training
Excellent wine knowledge and relevant qualifications
Ability to train and grow a team of mixed skill levels
Impeccable personal grooming
Knowledge and experience with Hospitality Management systems
Strong and effective communication skills
Ability to work accurately in a fast paced and dynamic environment
Exceptional organisational skills (and proven experience managing successful events)
Flexibility and maturity in approach - able to work shifts, including weekends
