Licensed Massage Therapist

Job Description

The Lodge Massage Therapist performs therapeutic massage in a wall tent or screened area of our historic pole barn. The Lodge has two massage therapists. Opportunity to teach regular yoga classes if certified. During times of less demand, the Massage Therapist supports the hospitality team by performing service, housekeeping or other general lodge duties. This position reports to the General Manager.

The Minam River Lodge is located in the middle of Oregon's Eagle Cap Wilderness. The Lodge is accessible only by an 8.5-mile hike or a flight to its wilderness airstrip. The Lodge, which is open from early June until mid-October, accommodates approximately 36 guests in a variety of accommodations and has been recognized as one of the best new hotels in the world by Conde Naste Traveler.

Responsibilities:

Performs approximately 24 hours of massage per 6-day work-week;
Maintains a clean and beautiful massage space, including housekeeping of linens and general cleaning of wall tent;
Assures all charges are correctly recorded;
Cleans and fills supplies daily for shared guest bathroom and shower;
Works with the General Manager to maintain appropriate inventories of supplies (the Lodge supplies table, bolster, linens, massage oils, etc.);
Monitors reservations calendar and assures efficient scheduling;
Performs hospitality services per manager direction if demand is slow;
Is a cheerful, helpful and positive presence for both guests and teammates;
Understands and follows all policies and procedures in employee manual and hospitality manual.

Education, Experience, Skills:

Oregon LMT, Oregon Food Handlers card;
Team player who shows initiative and works well as a member of a close-knit staff;
Ability to lift at least 35 lbs, climb stairs, hike frequently between cabins on uneven terrain carrying heavy loads or with a cart;
Ability to live and work in a beautiful but remote setting with infrequent breaks;

Compensation:

Wage variable with experience;
Food and lodging provided in double occupancy rooms or wall tents;
