The Grand Hotel, located just one mile from the Grand Canyon, operates a rustic yet modern steakhouse and a saloon. We offer opportunities to share your passion for hospitality by greeting and serving guests front of house or by working back of house, where you will be assisting in the kitchen by cleaning dishes or prepping our guest’s top-notch meals.
Work with all distributors with deliveries and ensure product is acceptable and matches invoice, properly puts all orders away under the direction of the purchasing supervisor. The Steward will also work with co-workers to accomplish deep cleaning projects and entering orders.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Fully understand and support Xanterra Mission Statement and Core Values.
Understand and adhere to Grand Hotel standards and practices including sanitation and safety policies.
Responsible for understanding and practicing proper chemical storage, handling and refill procedures.
Works with all distributors with deliveries and ensure product is acceptable and matches invoice, and properly puts all orders away and, received in computer system.
Works with co-workers to ensure the proper disposal of trash and cardboard.
Deep cleans and organizes kitchen equipment, line, storerooms, walk-in coolers and chemical storage, once per week.
Properly stores empty bags, boxes and crates.
Keeps all equipment, food and paper properly stored throughout hotel.
Notifies supervisor of any problems needing immediate attention.
Completes all assignments on Steward Cleaning Schedule.
On a rotary basis, deep cleans one piece of kitchen equipment per day according to rotation.
Enter orders and receive in Supervisor absence.
Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
Ability to receive certificate of completion of the Coconino County Food Handlers Course within thirty (30) days of employment.
Moderate to advance skills outlook and Excel.
Previous experience in high volume food and beverage industry as a Steward or in a line cook or prep cooks capacity.
Knowledgeable in food service sanitation standards and first in first out FIFO
