The Lodge Dishwasher supports the kitchen team in the service of three meals daily to guests of the Lodge. The Dishwasher may also assist in kitchen prep. Our two dishwashers are part of a kitchen team led by the Head Chef and General Manager.
The Minam River Lodge is located in the middle of Oregon's Eagle Cap Wilderness. The Lodge is accessible only by an 8.5-mile hike or a flight to its wilderness airstrip. The Lodge, which is open from early June until mid-October, accommodates approximately 36 guests in a variety of accommodations and has been recognized as one of the best new hotels in the world by Conde Naste Traveler.
Wash dishes, glassware and pots and pans using a commercial dishwashing machine and also by hand;
Maintain a clean kitchen and dishwashing area;
Maintain a cheerful, helpful and positive attitude to guests and team members;
Work efficiently in cleaning, sorting and putting away dishes;
Work carefully to minimize glassware and dish breakage;
Follow Lodge guidelines to ensure our septic system and grease trap are functioning properly;
Communicate with kitchen to ensure dishes are prioritized as needed;
Assist with garbage and composting programs;
Communicate supply needs, damaged goods or other problems to Head Chef.
Compliance of weekly scheduled work and break times
Education, Experience, Skills:
Oregon Food Handlers card;
Previous dishwashing experience;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
Team player who shows initiative and cares about doing a great job;
Ability to live and work for an intense four-month season in a beautiful but remote setting with infrequent breaks
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs, climb stairs, hike frequently on uneven terrain carrying heavy loads or with a cart;
Understand and embrace all policies and procedures in employee and hospitality manuals.

Compensation $750 plus tips
