New Zealand's busy summer season (November 2023 – April 2024) is a great time to work and explore with guests from all over the world.
We have staff accommodation options available and can also accommodate couples or small groups if everyone has hospitality experience. Our seasonal teams are fun and made up of a diverse mix of people of all ages and nationalities.
The regions where our lodges are located - Northland, Hawke's Bay and Queenstown - are filled with some of New Zealand’s most recognised visitor icons and attractions, as well as lesser travelled roads that are equally worth a visit. The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs is located in the Bay of Islands, at the top of the North Island of New Zealand. Set on 6,000 acres of Pacific Coast-land, this luxury lodge is one of the most celebrated boutique resort hotels in the world. We currently have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our team.

What you will do:
The kitchen is where the magic happens in our Luxury Lodge - and you can be part of that! We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchenhand to join our team. The right applicant must be self motivated, a team player and work well in a high pressure environment. Duties include -
Preparing menus in collaboration with colleagues
Ensuring adequacy of supplies at cooking stations
Training, developing and supporting junior chefs
Preparing ingredients that should be frequently available (vegetables, spices etc)
Following the guidance of the head or sous chefs and have input in new ways of presentation of dishes
Putting effort in optimising the cooking process with attention to speed and quality
Enforcing strict health and hygiene standards
What you will bring:
For this position, you must be self motivated, a team player and work well in a high pressure environment. You will also need to:
Have a relevant, culinary qualification
Have proven experience in a Chef de Partie role, ideally with previous experience at a similar standard establishment.
Have excellent use of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and processes
Have the ability to think on your feet as we have many guest requests and menu changes each day
Have good time management and the ability to multitask
Thorough understanding of Health & Safety requirements
